Public Comment Period: <\/strong>ACHENA Accreditation Standard 8: Program of Study<\/em><\/p>\n Began: <\/strong>August 14th, 2023<\/em><\/p>\n Ended: <\/strong>October 21st, 2023, midnight PT<\/em><\/p>\n PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD CONCLUDED\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n To:\u00a0<\/strong>National Homeopathy Organizations,\u00a0Homeopathy Schools,\u00a0Homeopathy Community Leaders,\u00a0Practitioners of Homeopathy,\u00a0Members of the General Public Interested in Homeopathy<\/p>\n The Accreditation Commission for Homeopathic Education in North America (ACHENA) supports the growth of the homeopathic profession by developing educational standards and acknowledging schools that meet those standards through a rigorous accreditation process. ACHENA\u2019s standards guide schools in their efforts to prepare professional homeopaths that are skilled at promoting health through the gentle and effective approach of Classical Homeopathy. ACHENA strives to ensure its standards are community-driven and community accepted.<\/p>\n This communication disseminates ACHENA\u2019s updated Standard 8: Program of Study<\/em><\/strong>:<\/p>\n BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/p>\n ACHENA began a Public Comment period on August 13,\u00a02023 to gather community input on an updated draft of ACHENA\u2019s Standard 8: Program of Study<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Information about the opportunity for public comment was made widely available during Homeopathy Action Alliance meetings, was announced via the National Center for Homeopathy\u2019s<\/a> electronic communications, and through ACHENA\u2019s mass email communications which include the following lists:<\/p>\n A community forum to solicit feedback from accredited schools was held on September 15.\u00a0 In the interest of allowing the community additional time to submit comments, the public comment period was extended from its initial ending date of October 13\u00a0until October 21, 2023.<\/p>\n ACHENA received comments from four individuals and received extensive comments during the September 15, 2023\u00a0meeting with accredited schools.<\/p>\n IMPLEMENTATION TIMELINE:<\/strong><\/p>\n The updated Standard 8: Program of Study will be integrated into ACHENA\u2019s Eligibility and Accreditation Manual in January, 2024. Accredited schools should begin immediately to work toward reviewing their operations and aligning them with these updated standards.
